This Photo...

epitomizes...

what Cedar Key, Florida...

is all about...

except they forgot...

the clams...

Cedar Key made its mark...

in the clam industry.

Just a bit of history for you...

don't want your brain to go stagnant...

now that the weekend is here.

  4. One day after a trip to Cedar Key, I began to tell a friend all about the clam industry and how Cedar Keyans were really worried after that BP spill that their clam industry would be maimed. You can imagine my surprise when my friend looked at me with tired eyes, and said, "Yeah, yeah, clam up now!"

    So I did.

    This picture looks familiar. :-)

  7. The different directions, tones and textures of the wood gives a lot of interest to this shot, as do the hand-lettered signs. The "raw bar" certainly adds a big taste of local colour-- perhaps making up for the lack of clams?

  8. Ah, seafood, seafood, seafood! I have a friend who used to fish with her family there every summer.

  9. Shrimp and Scallops...clams not so much. Maybe if they are steamed....just maybe.
