why this is my favorite photo...
from 2012.
It may be it's...
simplicity.
It may be that it has...
"Great Lakes" written on it.
It may be the muted...
natural colors.
I don't know...
I can't explain...
and that's okay...
about a lot of things.

It is very appealing! So Shabby Chic! Love those louvered windows! Reminds me of our old camp trailer. The windows cranked open but were still secure. Great capture! xx
ReplyDeleteYou don't need to explain. Photography is unexplainable. The photographer sees something. The viewer may see something entirely different. In fact, looking at this picture, I saw Lake Michigan. Don't ask why. But I lived in Chicago for awhile. :-))
ReplyDeleteI like it. Perhaps not my favorite. But it's very nice.
Have a nice weekend. When I was working, that was my favorite time. Now I don't much care. :-)
Great colors and textures!
ReplyDeleteI think it's beautiful - I am always on the lookout for similar type shots - great!!! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteFor me it has a tremendous amount of 'character' to it in its simplicity ~ Great shot!

Sometimes I'm really not sure what draws me to a photo, but this one does. There is definitely something about it!
ReplyDeleteI like it, too! (There is no way I would even attempt to select my favorite photo of the year!)
ReplyDeleteCertain images just "speak", who's to know why. But I can see why you are drawn to it!
ReplyDeleteIt's simple but dramatic! I love it!
ReplyDeleteNo need for explanation, different photographers see different perspective.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photograph! Sometimes you just have to go with your muse!
ReplyDeleteI also have some shots that just "draw me in". Don't you love that about your photography! Lovely shot....
ReplyDeletemaybe it just called out to you!
ReplyDeleteI love window and door images. I wonder what that says about me.
Not surprising it is your favorite - your image captured it and why photography is such a great medium.
ReplyDeleteI agree there is something elusively appealing here, the subtle colors and textures especially... Thank you for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #64!
ReplyDeleteIt's an engaging photo and I can understand why it could be your favorite. My own favorite is equally unusual.
ReplyDeleteI love the font.
ReplyDeleteIt is the rustic, textural aspect of this type photo that I like. Funny since I do not seem to take many photos like this. I think I will be on the look-out now.

It's a beautiful composition - slightly off center and lots of interest. My fave type of photo. Beautiful image.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, it is all about what we feel!
